27 Nov Girl’s Night Out Fundraiser with Sable’s Wings
We had such a great turn out at the Girl’s Night Out! We had more vendors than expected, more fun than we knew possible, and some pretty incredible desserts all thanks to volunteers and to Gia Chapman with Sable’s Wings for opening up her home. We are definitely hoping this fundraiser event becomes an annual thing, what a fun way to raise money!
We absolutely loved partnering with Sable’s Wings. If you aren’t familiar with this organization I do suggest you check them out! I met Gia, the founder, at a baby loss event for Mom’s right before my first Mother’s Day without my twins. She has THE biggest heart inside of her tiny body. She truly cares about changing what baby loss looks like for families grieving in the hospital. Her goal is to have “comfort rooms” in every hospital. A calm, serene, non-hospital looking room for families to gather with their baby before saying goodbye. This room will provide privacy from the rest of the hospital, especially from the other rooms with mother’s giving birth. The room will also be decorated in a way that the photographs taken of the baby will look more like those from a living room in your home. I think it is a beautiful way to honor her babies in heaven, as well as changing what baby loss looks like for future families. Her first comfort room is scheduled to open this year at Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa, AZ! To follow their progress, visit her website at www.sableswings.com.
